Michèle Sharik, Regional Coordinator
Hi there, Southern California!
I have enjoyed my first year as your Regional Coordinator! I have met many of you but I know there are still many of you out there that I haven't met, so I hope we can get together soon.
A little bit about myself: I moved to San Marcos, in the North County San Diego in January 2010. I grew up in Ohio, and moved to the SF Bay Area in 2002 to ring with Sonos. (Yes, I still ring with Sonos, and fly up to Oakland once or twice a month for rehearsals.) I am also a soloist and a director and a teacher and... basically anything to do with handbells! In addition to being a full-time handbell musician, I am also a full-time student, majoring in Visual and Performing Arts at CSU San Marcos.
As Regional Coordinator, I want to make myself as available as possible to all of you to help you promote your events and to really reap the benefits of your AGEHR membership. Watch The Twelfth Tone eNewsletter each month for more news regarding exciting upcoming events in our Region - plus you can scroll down on this page to check out Upcoming Sponsored & Endorsed Events, Upcoming Concerts, Other Opportunities, and the Featured Articles concerning handbell happenings in Southern California!
Don't forget to check out our Facebook Page, too!
Let's work together to promote the joy of handbells in SoCal!
Best wishes,
Michèle Sharik

San Diego Harmony Ringers announces
auditions for the 2012 Season!
Membership in the San Diego Harmony Ringers ensemble is by annual audition. Members contribute dues semi-annually toward the purchase of music and other expenses incurred by the organization.
Weekly rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 7:00-9:30pm at Faith Presbyterian near the campus of San Diego State University. We typically have 15-20 performances in public and private venues throughout the year, with the busiest time being between Thanksgiving and the New Year. Prospective ringers must be able to make the considerable commitment to attend all rehearsals and performances as to be expected of an advanced musical ensemble.
Auditions consist of a 15-minute individual session with focus on reading, rhythm, and technique. A handbell group session is also held to examine blend, dynamics, and musicality. All membership positions are auditioned annually, with successful candidates determined by the artistic director. For further information or to arrange an audition appointment, please contact the SDHR auditions coordinator at auditions@sdhr.org.
Dates:January 17th - individual 15-minute interview.
(Contact the auditions coordinator to reserve a time slot.)
January 24th - group ringing audition.
