Welcome to the news and information section for Area XII!
Good communication between Area XII members is vital to the future growth and success of our organization. As Communication Director, I’m looking forward to keeping you abreast of current handbell events and other information through our Web site and electronic communication. In this age of high technology (internet, cell phones, text messaging, etc.) communication has become instantaneous, and like many other organizations, Area XII is going “green.”
On September 1, 2009, the first issue of Area XII’s electronic newsletter, The Twelfth Tone E-newsletter, which provides an area-wide electronic information communiqué for Area XII, made its début. Consolidating Area, National and Regional news will hopefully provide more consistency in all communication to our members. My goal as editor of The Twelfth Tone E-newsletter is to:
- provide educational opportunities through dissemination of information on workshops, festivals, the chime loan program and other handbell-related events,
- create networking connections so you can connect with Area XII leaders, as well as with new and fellow members,
- and generate excitement for our art so you will want to become more involved in the handbell community.
Quick links to the Area XII and National AGEHR Web sites throughout the e-newsletter will provide a means to give you more details on events in a timelier and cost effective way. I encourage each of you who are not already receiving The Twelfth Tone E-newsletter to subscribe by sending your name and email address to me at info at areaxii.org. Likewise, I invite each of you to send me information about workshops and concerts you are hosting. Short, interesting articles about your choir (possibly you’ve recently taken a tour) or other handbell topics, as well as pictures, are also welcomed. The deadline for submitting information for inclusion in The Twelfth Tone E-newsletter is the 28th of each month.
If you are not yet receiving The Twelfth Tone E-newsletter, enter your email address here:
I am excited as we make this transition into the electronic age. I think you will begin to appreciate the timeliness of receiving important information and the improved communication with our members.
